Hernando Planells (Coach H) has established himself as one of the most respected basketball trainers and evaluators in the country. At only 30 years old, Coach H has been blessed to have had a very diverse experience in basketball. He has coached at the high school, college and professional levels. With his affiliation with the Los Angeles Rockfish he has coached and trained hundreds of athletes who have gone on to play NCAA Division 1, 2,3 or NAIA basketball.

As a Basketball Trainer for ReelSports, Coach H has choreographed basketball action in movies and has personally trained actors for their role as an athlete.

Currently, Coach H is the Southern California Scout for Marty Blake who is the Director of Scouting for the NBA.  He is also the Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel for the Hollywood Fame (www.hollywoodfamelive.com)

  • Serves as a scout for Marty and Ryan Blake. Marty Blake is the Director of Scouting for the NBA. Since 1971, Marty Blake and Associates has provided professional basketball scouting and consulting services to clients around the globe.
  • Former Head Coach with the LA Rockfish, one of the most respected AAU development programs in the country
  • Was the youngest Head Varsity Coach (20 yr old) in the country at Immaculate Heart High School in Tucson, AZ
  • Head Varstiy Basketball Coach at Los Angeles High School
  • Assistant Mens Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Citrus College
  • On staff at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)

                                                          Carmel Planells

Coach Carmel Planells has over 5 years experience as a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach. She is currently the Speed, Agility and Strength coach for ELITE training, a program that specializes in training high school, college and professional athletes. Her responsibilities with ELITE includes the development and coordination of sport specific strength training programs, speed and agility sessions, monitoring diet, and implementing recovery exercises that increase recovery time and flexibility.

Carmel is also the strength and conditioning coach for The Hollywood Fame who is coached by her husband Hernando Planells. With the Fame, Carmel was responsible for customizing workouts, thorough full body assessment evaluation to identify imbalances, deficits in core-stability and pre-existing injuries. She implemented a program that improved on-court basketball performance by maximizing speed, quickness, vertical leaping ability, strength and stamina.

Besides her work with ELITE and The Hollywood Fame, Carmel is a personal trainer at the SPA fitness for women in Upland, California

Prior to working with ELITE and the SPA fitness for women, Carmel tutored under former Georgia Tech University Strength and Conditioning Coach, Rob Miller. After leaving Georgia Tech, Coach Rob Miller went on to have a very successful career as a Consultant/Contractor for the Salt Lake City Olympic Organizing Committee, Senior Producer at NBA/Quokka Sports and CEO for ReelSports – a company that specializes in Sports Production and Fitness for movies, television and commercials.

 

Josh Dunaj

Assistant Coach Josh DunajCoach Dunaj is currently the number one assistant at Citrus College and has helped them become a top 15 program in the state.

Dunaj is known for being a superb communicator and a tremendous competitor. Dunaj has been coaching with the LA Rockfish, which is one of the top club programs in America, since the 12 th grade. Additionally, he has worked at a number of camps in the off-season including Duke University’s summer camp and the prestigious Snow Valley basketball camp in Santa Barbara California.

Josh graduated from Concordia University with a degree in Exercise Sports Science.
